Walmart has been operating in Washington for nearly 20 years and opened its first Washington store in 1993 in Omak. We currently operate 55 stores and clubs as well as one Distribution Center. Walmart is a solution for many communities across the nation offering quality jobs and career advancement, stimulating local economies with new business opportunities and pumping tax revenue into city coffers to fix roads, improve schools, and supply local jobs like police and fire.
Walmart employs 17,975 associates in Washington with an average wage for regular, full-time hourly associates of $12.73 (as of June 2011). A typical Supercenter will employ 250 + associates including customer service associates, pharmacists, human resource managers, and cashiers.
